Question: Good day to you, how do you know that the person your dating is the right one?
Answer: Good day to you, I i trust that you are well. I appreciate your question and will try to answer as best as i can. Its very hard to know if the person your dating is the right one, because people with different circumstances look for different "signs" to bring them to a place of certainty.
Additionally, it all depends on what an individual is looking for in terms of requirements. However, its important to know regardless of your situation, requirements and or preferences, that it is resolved in your mind and heart that the individual your with is the person you would feel comfortable spending the rest of your life with.
I will share with you some points to consider when choosing a mate.
Firstly, if you are a born again Christian it would be very wise to choose someone of Faith because there would be an obvious spiritual compatibility. However, not all Christians are perfect but it would make sense to choose and date someone who is like of like faith and beliefs.
Secondly, choose someone with the same academical level or similar to that of yourself, because there would be what i call intellectual compatibility. I am not suggesting that a doctor can be with a taxi man or a lawyer with a shoemaker, what i am suggesting is both of you should be able to reason and communicate at a level that is clear.
Thirdly, appearance is important, that is, if there is not physical attraction, you maybe heading for trouble. You must be attracted to the person and the person to you. While love is not base on physical appearance it would be good to be with someone that thinks the world of you and you the world of them.
Fourth, an evaluation of the person's goals, plans and life objectives are important to consider. Many things will not go as plans, but date someone who has a clear understanding of where they are going and how they plan to get there.
Those were some of the general points to consider in dating an individual, but spending time with and understanding the individual is very important because marriage never changes a person for the better, it magnifies what has been there post the marital union, therefore if your comfortable with the dating and courting process, you can make your decisions base on those experiences with your partner.
Additionally, counseling is very important because it brings in the open many things that could have been hidden during the dating and courting process, therefore seek wise counsel and allow someone to help you evaluate the practicality of your relationship outside of your own emotional bias and preferences.
Trust that you were helped, have a great Advent season!!!
